This Privacy Policy explains what information Visible Athlete ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and member platform (the "Service").
We built this Service for families. Most of our members are high school athletes, many of them minors, with a parent or guardian as the account payer. We take that seriously and collect only what we need to run the Service.
From the parent or guardian at checkout: name, email address, and payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
About the athlete: name and email address (provided at checkout by the parent), and profile information the athlete adds inside the platform, such as high school, graduation year, position, height, weight, athletic measurables, GPA, NCAA ID, and city and state. This information exists to help the athlete present themselves to college coaches; providing most of it is optional.
X (Twitter) connection: if the athlete chooses to connect an X account, we store the account identifier and access tokens needed to provide those features. Connecting X is optional.
Automatically: basic technical information needed to operate a website, such as login session data. We use a login cookie to keep members signed in. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
We use information to: operate the platform and its features; process payments and manage subscriptions; send transactional emails (such as account setup, receipts, and payment notices); provide recruiting guidance and personalized content inside the platform; respond to support requests; and keep the Service secure.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share athlete information with advertisers, recruiters, or data brokers.
The Service is intended for athletes who are at least 13 years old. Accounts for athletes under 18 are created through a parent-first process: the parent or guardian purchases the membership, consents to the athlete's use of the Service, and the athlete activates their login through a link we send. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use a small number of service providers to run the platform, each of which processes data only to provide their service to us: Stripe (payments and billing), Airtable (member data storage), Wized (member login and app functionality), Make (workflow automation, such as sending account emails), Cloudflare (account activation infrastructure), Webflow (website hosting), and Google (email delivery). If the athlete connects an X account, data is exchanged with X under X's own policies.
Passwords are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes, never in plain text. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to member data is limited to what is needed to operate the Service.
We keep account information while a membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward so families can rejoin without starting over. You can request deletion of your family's data at any time by contacting us; we will delete it except where we are required to keep records (for example, payment records required for tax and accounting purposes).
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your athlete, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Parents and guardians may exercise these rights on behalf of a minor athlete. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. To make a request, contact us using the details below; we will verify your identity before acting on the request.
If we make material changes to this Policy, we will notify you by email or through the Service before the changes take effect.
